EMPLOYMENT
KPIS always wants to maintain a strong team of employees who are dedicated to the school’s mission and philosophy. Employment opportunities are offered throughout the school year, which operates from late August until mid-July. Recruitment for the new school year begins in early spring of the current school year, but there may be occasions when openings become available during the school year.
Interested candidates should read the information below concerning application guidelines and position requirements. Applications from candidates in Japan and overseas for Homeroom Teacher positions will be accepted. For Teaching Assistant positions, however, only applications from candidates who are in Japan and have a university degree or have valid permission to work in Japan will be considered. Successfully short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Please complete the KPIS Application Form and attach a copy of each degree earned as well as teaching certificate. In addition, the candidate’s cover letter and resume must be sent to the school. Keep in mind that all documents must be provided in English.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Homeroom Teacher
Candidates must hold a college degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and have at least three years of preschool or kindergarten homeroom teaching experience. Candidates also must have a successful personal interview with the Principal as well as a demonstration lesson with an assigned class.
Teacher Assistant
Candidates must hold a college degree and have at least three years of preschool or kindergarten teacher assistant experience. Candidates also must have a successful personal interview with the Principal as well as a trial work day with an assigned class.
Substitute Teacher
Candidates who are interested in substitute teaching must hold a college degree and have at least three years of preschool or kindergarten teacher assistant experience. Candidates also must have a successful personal interview with the Principal as well as a trial work day with an assigned class.
After School Care Provider
Candidates should have knowledge of and classroom experience in developmentally appropriate practices in Early Childhood Education. Candidates also must be fluent speakers of English, reside in Japan and hold a valid visa.
